I wish to find employment as a scientific researcher, writer, programmer, advisor, consultant, or web site designer for an institution involved in science/technology research or education.
EDUCATION
1998 - Present, Educational Web Site Development, Northeast Consortium for Engineering Education (NCEE). Single-handedly developing an educational web site devoted to astronomy, and space sciences and technologies, with many educational and informational links. Extensive WWW design and research experience - HTML, CGI, JavaScript, LiveWire.
1995-1997, Postdoctoral Research Scholar, Air Force Research Laboratory (contracted through NCEE). Researched topics in infrared astronomy, programmed catalog database characterization software, published radio astronomical studies of Galactic molecular clouds. Extensive WWW research experience; some design experience. Extensive programming experience (FORTRAN, IDL, C[++]); started learning JavaScript and similar scripting languages.
1993-1995, Research Assistant, Boston University. Conducted dissertation research on physical characteristics of small, isolated, potentially star forming clouds in the Milky Way galaxy. Extensive programming and WWW research experience; some design experience.
1990-1993, Teaching Assistant, Boston University. Taught laboratory and discussion sections for course in astronomical observing, for astronomy majors. Also taught sections for introductory courses in galactic astronomy and in planetary sciences.
1989-1990, Research Assistant, Boston University. Determined instrumental performance of a millimeter wave polarimeter. Developed software algorithms for infrared image enhancement. Researched relationships between dust structures (infrared clumpiness) and magnetic fields (millimeter wave polarimetry) in massive star formation regions of the Galaxy.
1988-1989, Teaching Assistant, Boston University. Taught laboratory and discussion sections for various introductory astronomy courses.
1986-1988, Lab Analyst, Space Instrumentation Division, Panametrics, Inc. Conducted laboratory experiments, for quality assurance, on various solid state detectors for payloads flown on the GOES and CRRES satellite systems.
Molecular Clouds, Star Formation, Polarimetry, Galactic IR Studies, Astronomy and Space Science Education and Outreach, WWW design and database interfaces.
